There are times I get so discouraged with the whole process of trying to get published; I feel as though I'm chasing my tail and getting nowhere. Giving up is a huge relief -- perhaps because deep inside I know that giving up is futile. Throwing in the towel and doing something other than writing gives me the illusion of control -- and something new to fuel my inspiration. This is thoughtfully written and (oddly) very encouraging.
